Unorthodox Fox Commission Process Guide

Commissions are closed until September 30, 2022.

Interested in commissioned artwork ? Read below and email me at lauren.o.ulieme@gmail.com to get the process started.

I offer portrait painting services (head shots, busts, and waist-length/full length portraiture). I also offer one shot character designs as well as fan art/concept art illustration services. I do not accept logo/graphic design related requests or any requests outside of the scope of the services I offer.

Step 1:

Send me an email with your name or DBA. Include the type of commission service that fits your needs, a detailed description of what you are envisioning for the end product, the sizing, the usage purpose for the artwork/rights desired, the deliverables you’ll need at the end (high-res image, prints, etc.), and the due date for the commission. Ask any questions you may have and state your preferred method of communication.

At this stage, I will also be asking a handful of detailed questions for clarity. The more information you can give, the easier it is to develop a plan, schedule, and give an accurate budget for the amount of work needed to achieve success.

Step 2:

A letter of agreement and invoice will be sent to you by email. The letter of agreement is a basic contract containing all the details discussed as well as important legal information. I encourage all my clients to read over the letter of agreement carefully to ensure all details are included and to voice any questions or concerns that arise for possible amendment. After the letter of agreement is agreed upon by both parties, an invoice will be sent directly from my business PayPal. All commissions require a 50% deposit in order to initiate work starting. When the commission is completed to your satisfaction, the final deposit will be due. All final deliverables will be sent immediately after final payment is completed.

Step 3:

Commission time ! My process is set-up to be as painless and efficient as possible.

Based on the due date, a schedule will be sent to you outlining the dates for delivery of process work. There are essentially four major stages we will be going through: Ideation (thumbnails/rough sketches to explore the idea), Linework (final, clean sketch), Mock-ups ( studies exploring the lighting + color scheme that would best fit the concept/mood as well as swatches of the brushes and textures to be utilized), and Final Product (Snapshots of progress at 50%, 75%, and 95% completion will be sent for critique.) I offer a max of 2 major revisions per stage. Additional revisions are subject to a fee.

Scheduling to allow a minimum of 2-3 weeks for completion is preferred. Anything with a turnaround time of less than two weeks will be considered a rush job and will be subject to additional fees.
